How to Work with SMEs
Project Documents | Project Competencies
This project was created in the IT 5600 Multimedia Authoring: Web class led by Dave Young and was an independent study project. The theme of the project is how to work with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts). The project consisted of building the website template, creating an instructional design plan, creating an online course and assessment, and keeping a project journal. This project helped me to further my skills and knowledge about creating effective online training.
This project is an online training course for college or university students or work professionals who are instructional designers (ID) that develop instructional courses. The online training will show the learner techniques or strategies that will help them work better with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). It is often difficult to know what to do or what information to gather from a SME when gathering information to create the training. When the ID knows how to work with the SME and is able to gather the proper information they are more likely to create effective training for their learners.
