B. Dianne's Story
My background until a little over ten years ago was in the banking field. After being laid off, I decided to go back to school and get my Bachelor's degree at The Women's College in Applied Computing. During this time I also obtained a helpdesk position that was my entry point into the technology field. As I progressed through school I became very interested in creating web pages. At work I began to take over varying duties for the Intranet. Eventually, I became the Web Application Specialist.
While I was beginning my career as the Web Application Specialist, I finished my Bachelor's degree, and started my Master's degree in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in Web technologies, and Object-Oriented programming. I graduated with that degree on June 6, 2003.
I again recently was laid off from my work. The company eliminated positions and mine was one of the positions eliminated. So, with another opportunity to rethink my future, I obtained a second masters from the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center with a MA in Information and Learning Technologies, Instructional Design and Adult Learning on May 13, 2006.
B. Dianne's Family
My family is very important to me. I have a life-partner of over 20 years. I also have a 26 year old son, who lives in Denver, and works for Comcast. Additionally, I have two dogs, one beagle - Sophie, and one Westie-Cairn Terrier mix - Crystal. Other extended family is located in various locations in Colorado and Georgia.
